Booking, Cancellation and Refund Policy

General
As a Jesuit Retreat Centre, our mission is to provide a welcoming environment for prayer, reflection and spiritual renewal. The main source of revenue for Manresa are the offerings and donations received from retreatants, and a stable income assures our work and developments for the future. Retreat fees contribute directly to the costs of accommodation, meals, staffing and the ongoing ministry of the Retreat Centre. This policy is to ensure that bookings are handled smoothly, that those who wish to come to Manresa can do so, and that cancellations are handled fairly with minimum administrative staff time. 

We will always consider situations of hardship or evident pastoral needs, applying the Ignatian principle of generosity - please contact us to request more information. We understand that circumstances can change, and we aim to deal with cancellations compassionately.

Bookings for all retreats, courses and events organised by Manresa:

Deposit and Payments:

  • A deposit of €200 (for residential retreats of 5 or more nights) and €150 (for residential retreats of up to 4 nights) per person is required at least 28 days in advance of the commencement date of a retreat to secure a booking. 
  • Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit.
  • Oasis Days, one-day retreats, courses (excluding the Diploma in Spirituality) and all other events are to be paid in full upon booking.

Cancellations:
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please notify the Retreat Centre directly as soon as possible by email or telephone.

The following charges apply:

  • More than 28 days before arrival date - full refund less deposit
  • 14-28 days before arrival date - 50% refund of fees paid in excess of deposit
  • 14 days or less before arrival date - no refund

Non-Attendance and Early Departure:
No refunds can be given for failure to attend a retreat; late arrival; early departure; unused accommodation, meals, or programme elements. 

Cancellation by the Retreat Centre:
On rare occasions, the centre may need to cancel or postpone a retreat. Where this occurs, participants will be offered either a full refund; or the opportunity to transfer to another retreat or event. The centre’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the retreat booking.

Bookings by (external) groups:

Deposit and Payments:
Upon receipt of a reservation form, an email request for a deposit of 20% of total cost is sent to secure your booking. If no deposit is received within 1 calendar month, then the provisional reservation is cancelled and the place made available to another group. An email notification of this will be sent.

  • A deposit of 20% of total cost is required to secure your booking.
  • The balance is due 28 days before the start date of the retreat or course. A reminder will be sent in advance of this date. 
  • If a booking is made within one month of the start of the event, the full payment is due immediately. 
  • If actual number of persons decreases below the booking number, the deposit portion per person is non-refundable and non-transferable.

The following charges apply:

  • More than 28 days before commencement of event - full refund less 20% deposit of total cost
  • 14-28 days before commencement of event - 50% refund of total cost less deposit
  • 14 days or less before commencement of event - non-refundable and non-transferrable
