The Kingship of Christ
The concept of kingdom features frequently in both the Old and New Testaments. This should alert us to its importance and how its meaning changed over the course of salvation history.
His kingship features at both the beginning and the end of the life of the Saviour. “Where is the infant king of the Jews?”, and the proclamation on Calvary identifying Him as “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”. Just over 100 years ago in 1925, the Kingship of Christ was given official recognition with the addition of the great feast to the Liturgical Calendar of the Church by Pope Pius XI.
The retreat will offer reflections to facilitate prayer and reflection.
