Advent Retreat <Online>

The elements for your retreat will be available on this page from Monday 30 November 2020. There will be an reflection and prayer offered each day by Aileen Murphy RLR and Mary Hunt. We suggest using one in the morning and, having reflected and prayed on what the material prompts in you, avail of a guided prayer in the afternoon. Whether you choose a one, two or three-day retreat or use these resources at different times during Advent, we hope that they are of help to you.

If you follow some of the retreat, you are invited to join others online for further reflection and prayer. Find out more here.

Advent Retreat 2020 - Day 1 - Morning

Mary Hunt reflects on the rôle of the Magi - the 'Wise Men' who travelled from afar in search of their goal. Mary begins by recalling Meister Eckhart's question and continues to pose other questions to guide your Advent reflection:

“What good is it to me
If this eternal birth of the Divine Son
 Takes place unceasingly
But does not take place within myself”.

Reflecting on your Advent Retreat

While we are aware of the limitations of online retreats, we have also enjoyed exploring the possibilities. The response and suggestions of those who have joined us have shaped what we offer - for which we are grateful.

A significant part of many retreats has been the opportunity to engage in conversation with others and the presenters.

We are glad to offer a number of opportunities to meet online for reflection and prayer during Advent.
