One-day retreats in August offer a chance for you to take stock, reflect and pray. Guidance is offered in various forms during the day; brief reflective inputs, one-to-one meetings and celebration of the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation are among the options from which you can choose.
For many, it will be a time to look back on the previous months, to consider the extraordinary experience of the restrictions and lockdown. For some, it will be an opportunity to let appreciation deepen and gratitude grow; for others, it may be a chance to consider loss. For all of us, we will look at our lives and see where God is inviting us to hope.

There are four brief reflection times each day – about 15 minutes of input will be offered/ The reflections will take different forms – guided prayer, scripture meditation, prayer proposals, imaginative contemplation, labyrinth walking, movement. These will provide some prompts or pointers for your time of retreat.
Mass will be at 1215 each day in the Arrupe Chapel. in accordance with the public health guidelines, these will be quiet celebrations, the small number allowing physical distancing in individually designated seats.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available to any retreatant wishing to avail of it.
Giving time for spiritual conversation is a priority in Manresa, usually taking the form of a one-to-one meeting with a spiritual director. These conversations are a chance for people to tell their story, to name what we are seeking, to clarify what is holding us back, to recognise where God is prompting.
Silence and quiet
The time of isolation has been enough quiet for many! The quiet of a retreat centre is different: it is time of relaxed attention, of expectant noticing. The company of others similarly engaged is usually named as supportive and encouraging.
You will be asked to complete a registration questionnaire which will allow us to record details necessary for contact tracing. All participants will be ready to comply with Manresa’s requirements in the interests of public health.
