Advent Triduum 1: 5-9 December, 2011
Advent Triduum 2: 12-16 December, 2011
This year our Advent Tridua will be led by Fr. Raymond Moloney, S.J.
As the frenzy of the Christmas preparations comes to a climax, many people long for a few days' peace and stillness, away from the mad rush. Our two Tridua here in Manresa offer just such an opportunity. Centered on the themes of Advent and Christmas, and in an atmosphere of silent prayer and reflection, these days provide an opportunity for people to get in touch with the real meaning of the season and the real wonder of what we celebrate.
This year, our first Triduum will begin on the evening of Monday, 5 December, finishing with Mass and breakfast on the morning of Friday, 9 December. The second Triduum will take place a week later: beginning on 12 December and ending on the morning of 16 December.
Material for prayer and reflection will be offered each morning, and afterwards will be available for a personal meeting with those who wish. Daily Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available. Early booking is recommended to ensure a place.
And remember: if you are unable to get away mid-week for one of these Tridua, and would still hope to spend some time in quiet preparation for Christmas, Manresa will be holding a weekend retreat for lay people from Friday evening, 2 December, until after lunch, 4 December.
