Arrupe Leadership Programme
This programme which is due to commence in September 2010 will be rooted in gospel values as interpreted through the vision of St. Ignatius.  It will be named after Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J., who, as General of the Jesuits from 1965 to 1983, embodied the Ignatian ideal of selfless leadership to an extraordinary degree.

Leadership in the Ignatian tradition is about service, and is rooted in respect for each individual as called by God and as having a unique role to play in God’s plan for our world. In line with this vision, our programme will aim at forming leaders who are anchored in solid values, open to appropriate adaptation, at the service of others and courageous in making decisions imbued with a sense of justice.

The capacity for self-reflection will be a vital consideration in the selection of candidates for this programme.  Another determining factor will be the desire of the applicants to make a difference in the environment in which they find themselves.

"Grant me, O Lord, to see everything with new eyes, to relish the things that are yours and communicate them to others."  Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J.
